Mr. William Horace Terry, age 87, of Rome, formerly of Silver Creek, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his residence.

                Mr. Terry was born in Rockmart, Georgia on May 13, 1936, son of the late Horace Terry and the late Irma Leen Jones Terry.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Ellison Terry, by a daughter, Kathy Mann, by a sister, JoAnn Bowman, and by a brother, Jack Terry.  Mr. Terry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War.  Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Terry Auto Parts and Grocery for many years.  Mr. Terry was a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church, was a Mason and Shriner, and was formerly a Gideon.  He was an avid runner and was known for running daily circuits on the streets of Rome and surrounding areas.  He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan.

                Survivors include his wife, Mary Terry; 2 daughters, Kristi Gilleland (Chip) and Kay Ely; a grandson, Sage Gilleland; a stepdaughter, Debra Wheeler; a brother, Edward Terry; step grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

                Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 2pm at Rome Memorial Park.  Dr. Philip May will officiate, and the Rome American Legion Honor Guard will present military honors.
