An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, David Paul Gragg, 49 of Rome, is facing additional charges after it was discovered that he was found printing and distributing counterfeit money around the state.
A search of his home on 3rd Street resulted in police finding three counterfeit $100 bill and tools used to print the fake money.
According to reports, Gragg’s counterfeit money has been used across metro Atlanta as well as other states. Police said that Gragg’s car was captured on cameras throughout Atlanta the last week weeks where the funny money has been spotted.
The Rome Police Department said that, “We’ve had a lot of washed-out ones that have been re-printed to look like $20s. The investigation into Gragg was launched after he used a counterfeit $100 bill at Lumina Coffee.
The U.S. Secret Service has been called in to take over the investigation.
Gragg is charged with four counts first degree forgery and possession of tools for a commission of a crime.
