Neil Lynn Klopsch, 48, and Cherry Lynn Walker, 71, both of Rome, were arrested after police said they allowed a double amputee Navy Veteran to live in a home covered in animal feces that measured four inches thick.

Authorities added that had to wear protective gear due to the toxic levels of ammonia inside the home.

They also located 67 dogs that were starved at the home Pine View Way.

Both are charged with 67 counts aggravated cruelty to animals and the exploitation of an elderly/disabled person.
