Mrs. Edna Rose (Gehers) Harlan, age 76, of Carterville passed away peacefully at home Saturday, January 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Edna was born in Lewisburg, PA, December 5, 1947, daughter of the late Albert and Alverta Rosenthal Gehers. She was also preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Ronnie L. Hogue; late husband, Clayton Dale Harlan; brothers, Gene, Jake, Ronnie, Fritz, Dave, Toby and Tommy Gehers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Margaret Hogue; brother-in-law, Wade Hogue; and sister-in-law, Nylette Walls. Edna was a faithful Christian. Better known as Mamaw Netna, she was the glue that held everything together. Her family cherished her almost as much as she did them. Edna always loved making trips back home to Pennsylvania and Indiana to visit with her family and friends. She loved being on the go and was always into something, from traveling, bird watching, cooking, gardening, shoe shopping and playing games with her grandchildren, she loved it all. She was a loving mother, mamaw, sister, aunt and loyal friend, her memory will live in our hearts forever.


Survivors include her daughter, Julie Hogue Kaufman (Joseph Ben Kaufman); son, Joseph Hogue (Becky Hogue); granddaughters, Montana Rose Cochran (Justin), Samantha Dixon (Derek), and Lyric Hogue; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Cali Rose Cochran, Elliette and Levi Dixon, and Carmello Hogue; sister, Donna Greensweight (Bill); very special nieces, Wanda Glenny (John) and Tina Williams (Chris) and numerous loved nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 9, 2024, at 5:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Howell officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.


Graveside services will be held January 12, 2024, at Clover Hills Cemetery in Harrodsburg, Indiana. 
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Edna Rose (Gehers) Harlan.
