Floyd County Schools showed their dedication for arts this week by unanimously voting to spend $240,000 on new band uniforms for the district.

The Board of Education voted to purchase 366 new band unforms, which is enough for all current band members plus extra in case of future growth.

The last time new band uniforms were purchased was in 2009, but that was done with school funds, not board educational money.

The purchase comes just months after FCS purchased over $400,000 in instruments for students.
