James Corey Espy, 49 of Rockmart, was arrested this week after reports said he tried to murder a 48 year-old woman at the Department of Family and Children Services on Riverside Parkway.
Police stated that Espy attempted to strangle the woman to death before destroying up to $500 of her property.
The incident occurred just after 3 pm on Christmas Eve
Espy is charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.
