Mrs. Carolyn Marie Dudley, age 82, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

                Mrs. Dudley was born on February 9, 1941, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Joe Cleamon Bowman and the late Margaret Alice Childers Bowman.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, William Alton Dudley, her son-in-law, Chris Brock, by her sister, Glenda Bowman Green, and her brother-in-law, Ricky Green.  Mrs. Dudley was a graduate of East Rome High School.  She was previously employed at G.C. Murphy, Enloe Drug Company, and Evco Plastics. Mrs. Dudley was a member of East Rome Baptist Church.

                Mrs. Dudley loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything and would cherish every moment she got to spend with them.  Her favorite past-time was cooking cakes which made her the obvious candidate for the family cook. She loved cooking meals for her family and would have them over as often as she could. Mrs. Dudley loved her church and Sunday School Class, and also enjoyed cleaning the church on Thursday’s with the “Cleaning Crew.”

                Survivors include her 2 children, Ginger Brock (Michael Parsons), and Todd Dudley (Lisa), both of Lindale; 2 grandchildren, Ansley Fuller (Matthew) and Blake Dudley (Courtney); 4 great grandchildren, Owen Smith, Callie Smith, Addy Swift and Aiden Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

                A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Floyd Memory Gardens.  Rev. Steve Whelchel will officiate the service.

                The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2:30pm on Monday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. At other hours, the family may be contacted the residence of her daughter, Ginger.

                The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Dudley’s primary care physician, Dr. Joe Vaughn, and to DaVita Rome Dialysis, especially Mark Sharp and Kathy Ledbetter, for the tireless and compassionate care they provided.
