Mr. Bernard Allen “Bernie” Ott, age 84, of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

                Mr. Ott was born on May 11, 1939, in Saginaw, MI, son of the late Allen Ott and the late Marie Brasseur Ott.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Riedel.  Mr. Ott received his bachelors degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI.  Before his retirement, he worked in sales for Wheel Horse Lawn and Garden Tractors as well as IBM.  Mr. Ott loved God more than anything or any one on this Earth.  He was a generous man who loved helping others. Mr. Ott enjoyed fixing things and watching sports, especially baseball.  His favorite baseball team usually coincided with where he and his wife were living during the season, needless to say he was thrilled with the success of the Atlanta Braves over the last few years.  Mr. Ott was of the Catholic faith and is now rejoicing in the presence of God for eternity.

                Survivors include his wife, Florence O’Reilly Ott, Rome, to whom he was married in 1967; 3 children, Hallie Kelley, Allen Ott, and Bryan Ott (Blake Harrison); 5 grandchildren, Conor Kelley, Shea Kelley, Nolan Kelley, Nicholas Ott, and Charlie Ott; 3 sisters, Rosemary Borchers, Marcia Wilson (Dexter), and Lois Ott; many, many, many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

                In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Ott will be cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.
