LeRoy Warren Dunaway, a cherished member of the Armuchee community, who left us on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the age of 66. LeRoy was born to Henry Randolph Dunaway and Edna Marlene Warren Dunaway on June 30, 1957, in Rome, Georgia, where he grew up and formed enduring bonds with family and friends.

LeRoy’s life was marked by his unwavering devotion to his family and his admirable work ethic. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Henry and Edna Dunaway; his granddaughter, Madison Jade; and his sister, Barbara Sue. His memory will be forever cherished by his ex-wife, Sandi Weaver; his sons, Lawson and Levi Dunaway; his daughters, Jamie Leigh Cole (David), Haley Manis (Wayne), Amy Schelleack (Jonathan), Mary Smith (Tyson), and Sarah Dunaway. His brother, Randy Dunaway (Cathy), and sister, Donna Pruitt (Tyrone), also mourn his loss. LeRoy’s grandchildren were indeed the apples of his eye, and he was an exceptionally doting grandfather to Skylin, Gracelyn, Haylen, Camden, Cason, Alex, and Elinor. 

LeRoy was a respected employee at Suzuki of Rome, Georgia, where he retired after years of dedicated service. A proud graduate of Armuchee High School, class of 1975, he was known for his kindness, reliability, and sense of humor. LeRoy was a loving husband, a trusted son, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, a loyal brother, and a faithful friend. His presence enriched the lives of those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt.

A visitation and memorial service to honor and celebrate LeRoy’s life will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023. The visitation is scheduled from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 4:00 PM. Both events will take place in the Chapel at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia 30165. 

LeRoy’s legacy is evidence of the love and care he bestowed upon those around him. As we bid him farewell, we hold onto the memories and lessons he shared with us. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
