A homeless 33-year-old Rome man, Dayton Chance Carter, was arrested this week after police said he was found in possession of heroin.
Police said that they found Carter in possession of the drug at a location on Tower Road in Aragon.
He is also accused of failing to report to his probation officer and repeatedly failing to pay his probation fee.
He was taken into custody near the Economy Inn on Martha Berry Blvd.
Carter is charged with possession of a schedule I controlled substance, contempt of superior court and three counts of probation violation.
