Juan Carlos Hernandez, 45 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he fought with officers while they were taking him into custody for being drunk in public.

Officers said that Hernandez was found stumbling drunk on East 2nd Avenue while using vulgar and profane language.

When police attempted to place him under arrest, Hernandez refused to place his hands behind his back.  After finally being placed in the patrol car, he began attempting to kick out the back window.

Hernandez is charged with public drunk, disorderly conduct and three counts obstruction.
