We are saddened to announce the passing of our family’s matriarch, Stella Novella Bramlett Trotter, on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  Novella was so beloved by her family, and they were with her as she passed peacefully surrounded in love.  We will forever love and miss our Momma, Maw Maw, Mother-in-love and rejoice that she has her new body and will live eternally with Jesus and her dear family members who were there to greet her as she entered Heaven’s gate.

Novella was born in Floyd County, Georgia on April 9, 1935, daughter of the late Judge C.W. Bramlett and the late Estella Sisson Bramlett.  She married the love of her life, William O. “Bill” Trotter, Jr., on September 6, 1952, and was preceded in death by him on May 18, 2004.  She was also preceded in death by a son George P. Trotter, Sr., by a grandson, Kevin Blake Trotter, by a great grandson, Ethan McKinnley Long, by a daughter-in-law, Vicki Trotter, and by a sister, Bonnie Sue Bramlett Carter.

Novella was a 1953 graduate of Pepperell High School.  She was a member of East Rome Baptist where she was part of the King’s Daughters Sunday School class.  She was a homemaker and mother and served as a secretary for Midway School in the 60’s.  To the Northwest Georgia community, she was best known as “The Flower Lady”.  She started Novella’s Flower Shoppe in her home in June of 1979 and grew to one of the best in Rome and Northwest Georgia for the next forty-four years.  Novella’s Flower Shoppe was her namesake, and a proud family-run and owned small business.  She was so honored and grateful to be a part of so many celebrations, holidays, sympathies, and families in Rome, Lindale, Silver Creek and Floyd County Communities.  She treasured the love, support and memories made and was thankful for the community’s trust, loyalty and patronage.
