Mrs. Patricia Ellen Autry, age 81, of Rome

 Mrs. Patricia Ellen Autry, age 81, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in a local hospital.

                Mrs. Autry was born in Blue Ridge, GA, on November 21, 1941, daughter of the late Joseph Dennis Cranmore and the late Bessie Lee Pless Cranmore.  She was also preceded in death by 2 children, John Michael Autry and Jody Steven Autry, and 3 siblings, Eva Lee Ely, Teddy Cranmore and Carol Lavender. Mrs. Autry received her associate degree from Coosa Valley Technical College and was a certified Pharmacy Technician for the State of GA northwest region Health Departments.  She was the bookkeeper and did accounting for Ira Levy for several years, but her favorite job was being a loving homemaker for her husband and children.

Mrs. Autry was an accomplished dancer and taught tap, ballet, and jazz in various schools in Cartersville, Calhoun, Cedar Bluff, and Rome. She and her husband taught ballroom dancing together and when not in class could be found doing the “jitterbug” in their living room. Mrs. Autry loved children, that love made her home a safe space for any that might be lacking a stable home life.  She always had room at the table for anyone and always put everyone’s needs above her own.  Mrs. Autry was a talented seamstress, often making her children’s clothes, color guard flags and cheer uniforms.  She loved flowers, sunsets, and collecting.  Her collection included depression antique glass, teacups, angels and every card anyone has sent her.  Mrs. Autry and her husband were long-time members of West Rome Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was very active in the “Shut-ins” ministry.  She later became a member of Fellowship Baptist Church

                Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Gene Autry; 3 children, Gina Bouthilette, Darin Autry (Carolyn), and Suzan Muglia-Camara (Nathan); 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Wilberger (Preston); numerous nieces and nephews.

                Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.  Entombment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

                The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.

                Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Thursday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, and include: Darin Autry, Joshua DeGroate, Nathan Camara, Ben Camara, Dillon Autry, Mason Frentz, Brett Bouthilette and Brandon Bouthilette.
