Mrs. Annie M. Reeves Gonzales, age 97, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at a local healthcare facility.
Mrs. Gonzales was born in Randolph County, Alabama on August 13, 1926, daughter of the late Travis Ambers Reeves and the late Velma Gaston Reeves. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gonzales, and by four siblings, Runette Robinson, Juke Reeves, Travis Reeves, and Glenn Reeves. Mrs. Gonzales was a homemaker and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Wedowee, AL. She loved Bluegrass Music and was a member of the Georgia Mountain Music Club. Mrs. Gonzales also enjoyed shopping, flowers, and arranging flowers.
Survivors include a son, Jody Gonzales (Lissa); a daughter, Kippy Gonzales; four grandchildren, Hope Lance, Tyler Gonzales (Hannah), Madison Lance Boaz (David), and Trevor Gonzales; four great grandchildren, Gianna Gonzales, Roman Gonzales, Riley Baker, and Cali Blake Boaz; two sisters, Inez Colbert (Johnny) and Helen White; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Dr. Talmadge Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 12:30 until 1:45pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 1:30pm and include Tyler Gonzales, Trevor Gonzales, David Boaz, Jason Brock, Gary Wood, and Randall Wood.
