Lora Delilah Smith, 8 days old, died in her mother’s arms at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 29, 2023. “Little Tink” was such a fighter. After struggling with early delivery, heart problems, and other issues, she passed gently into the arms of Jesus.
Delilah is the daughter of Dylan Smith and Bliss Burton of Cartersville, Georgia. Her delivery was such an answer to so many prayers. During her brief visit on earth, she truly enjoyed hearing her mother’s voice. She will always be held close in the memory of her parents and those who knew her through pictures. She will be greatly missed.
Delilah is the granddaughter of LaDonna Burton and the late Ashley Burton, Shawn Goforth(James) and Vernon Smith. She is the great-granddaughter of Ozella Graves and the late Milton Graves, the late Calvin and Peggy Burton, Lana McCraken and the late Frank McCracken, and the late J. B. Smith and Carrie Smith. She is the great-great-granddaughter of the late Jeff and Lora Crane. She is the half-sister of Braxton and Hunter Smith. She will forever be remembered by hosts of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 am. Gary Graves (Delilah’s uncle) will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10:00 am). The graveside service will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, Gazebo following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Dylan and Bliss respectfully request that donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Chattanooga, 200 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37403 in Delilah’s memory. We are very appreciative of the professional and caring staff at Erlanger Hospital and at The Ronald McDonald House. Further appreciation goes to Henderson and Sons Funeral Home and the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
