Steven Paul Wilson, 37 of Acklemore, AL, was jailed in Rome this week after police said they were lead on a high-speed chase on Ga 1.

Reports said that the chase began in Chattooga County before entering Floyd while driving at speeds of over 100 mph.

Wilson is accused of driving on the wrong side of the roadway, running red lights all while being reckless and in disregard for public safety.

After eventually stopping, police said that they located methamphetamine and cocaine in his possession.

Wilson is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime,  DUI, speeding, failure to maintain lane, violation of license class, driving on wrong side of the roadway, improper lane change, failure to obey traffic control devices, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone and attempting to elude police.
