Mrs. Jane Barton Mooney Morgan, age 71, of Rome, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Rome, GA, on June 20, 1952, daughter of the late Burgett Hamilton Mooney Jr., and the late Helen Sibley Greer Mooney. She was also preceded in death by a son, Hugh Dean Morgan II.
After graduating from East Rome High School in 1970, Jane attended Floyd Junior College (now Georgia Highlands College). Mrs. Morgan was also a former member of the Junior Service League of Rome, the Green Thumb Garden Club, and the National Society of Colonial Dames in America. She was a Member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Edward Joseph Morgan, to whom she was married for 52 years; her son, John Drenning Morgan(Dona), Forney, AL; her daughter, Jane Eads Morgan Williams(Michael), Rome, GA; her grandchildren, Darby Morgan, Ruby Jane Morgan, Kady Beth Morgan, Eli Morgan, Thomas Williams, Teague Williams, and Hugh Morgan V; her sisters, Mary Sib Mooney Banks and Elizabeth Mooney Mozley; and her brother, Burgett Mooney III.
A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hill Memory Gardens with Father David Boyd officiating.
The family requests no flowers, they ask that you consider making a memorial contribution to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church or Heyman Hospice Care.
