Mrs. April Leona Camp, age 50, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at a local hospital.
April was born in Rome, Georgia on May 10, 1973, daughter of Martha Sue Owens and the late Bobby Fred McBurnett. She was also preceded in death by a grandfather, Fred McBurnett, and by a grandmother, Katherine Owens. Mrs. Camp was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She had a special heart for the needy and was always willing to help them any way she could. She was active on social media and was administrator for a Floyd County Free Stuff page as well as several Conway Twitty fan pages.
Survivors include her husband, James Greg Camp; a son, Michael Brandon Nelson; a daughter, Holli Breanne Camp; two grandchildren, Easton Reid Nelson and Everleigh Faye Nelson; her mother, Martha Sue Owens; a sister, Lori McBurnett Bryant; a brother, Bobby Fred McBurnett, Jr.; a grandmother, Bobbie McBurnett; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 5 until 7pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday at 1:30pm and include Tim Storey, Tim Rolan, Kinta Whatley, Anthony Bray, Shandon Williams, and Ricky Camp.
