Mr. Spencer Glass Edgar, age 82, of Rome

Mr. Spencer Glass Edgar, age 82, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at a local healthcare facility.

                Mr. Edgar was born in Gratis, Georgia on April 12, 1941, son of the late James Edgar and the late Virginia Glass Edgar.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Henderson Edgar.  Mr. Edgar was a 1959 graduate of Henry Grady High School and a 1964 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology.  He worked for many years in the carpet industry first for Burlington Mills, then at Integrated Products until they closed, and he retired from Mohawk.  Mr. Edgar was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Oostanaula Lodge #113 F&AM, and was a Scottish Rite Mason.

                Survivors include his children, William Edgar (Stephanie) and Eileen Edgar; stepchildren, Tarrina Plymel (Ray) and Steve Hicks (Joan); grandchildren, Sarah Edgar, Molly Edgar, Carson Taylor, Kelsey Hightower (Matt), and Jonathan Hicks (Kara).

                In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Edgar will be cremated.  There will be a private family service at a later date.
