Benjamin Eugene Early, age 82, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
Benjamin was born in Floyd County, Georgia on November 28, 1940, to the late Benjamin Franklin Early and the late Dorothy Silvania Stephen Early. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Wesley Early. He was raised in the Model Community, graduated from Model High School and he worked for several years at Coosa Middle School. Benjamin was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Christian. His love will be missed not only by family but many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Judith Ann Evans Early; sons, Robert Early (Sandy) and Dan Early (Andy); grandchildren; Janna Early and Maggie Early; sisters, Shirley Badawi, Diane Franks, Betty Conn, Pam Early; brothers; Tom, Frank, Donald, and Jack Early; two special canines, Sophie and Willie; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Pastor Michael Holt and Pastor Mark Schaeufele officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to PAWS Humane Society.
