Mrs. Joyce Jeanette Ingram, age 71, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at a local hospital.

                Mrs. Ingram was born in Floyd County, GA, on December 16, 1951, daughter of the late Walter Van Childers, Jr., and the late Betty Ruth Proctor Childers.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Van Childers III.  Mrs. Ingram was a homemaker who loved nothing more than taking care of her family and supporting her husband by being a faithful Pastor’s wife.  She enjoyed trout fishing even though she wasn’t fond of baiting her own hook. Mrs. Ingram loved cooking and wanted to make sure her family never left her house hungry.  She loved all the “little’s” in the family and would treat every baby as her own.  Mrs. Ingram was full of life, loved joking around. She was even known to crack jokes on anyone around, especially her husband.  Mrs. Ingram was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

                Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Rev. Harold Ingram, Rome, to whom she was married on June 27, 1970; daughter, Jan Hall (Derek), Rome; 2 grandchildren, Hannah Hall and Chandler Hall; a foster grandson, Jeremy Peace (Jennifer); her sister, Linda Faye Childers Siniard (Eddie); 4 foster great-grandchildren, Abigail Peace, Rachel Peace, Elizabeth Peace and Leah Peace; nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and cherished dearly.

                A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Floyd Memory Gardens. Her son-in-law, Rev. Derek Hall will officiate the service.

                The family will receive friends from 11am until 12:30pm on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.

                Pallbearers are to assemble by 12pm on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Chandler Hall, Hunter Boyken, Kaleb Kilgo, Zach Diggs, Sammy Shiflett and Lance Shiflett.
