Mrs. Carla Fahy Barton Williams, age 65, of Rome, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Mrs. Williams was born in Rome, Georgia on December 7, 1957, daughter of the late Reuben Barton and the late Doris Alexander Stager. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Molly Stager. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Cave Spring High School and held a master’s degree in early childhood development. Prior to retirement, she taught school for the Rome City Schools and the Floyd County Schools. Mrs. Williams was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include her husband, Cliff Allen Williams; two daughters, Amanda Matthews and Autumn Moore (David, Jr.); a sister, Reesa Barton (Susan Seago); six grandchildren, Richard Allen Matthews, Doris Moore, Seaborn Moore, Emory Moore, Lindsey Williams, and Devin Williams; three great grandchildren, Arya, Collin, and Kaylee; special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 4pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Trey Stephens officiating. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated following the service.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Friday from 2pm until the service time.
