Patrick Damone Turner, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week after conspiring with another person to sneak drugs into the Floyd County Prison.
Reports said that Turner was recorded in a phone conversation with Terry Lee Warren, an inmate at the prison, to sneak contraband into the jail.
Authorities stated that Turner was to leave Newport cigarettes, four pack of Bugler brand tobacco, 8.39 grams of marijuana and 14.55 grams of methamphetamine at the Eastview Cemetery where it was to be picked up by inmates working.
The baggie containing the drugs was found by the detail officer at Eastview Cemetery at the point where Turner had been instructed to place it.
Turner is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, items prohibited by an inmate, use of a communication device involving controlled substances, possession of marijuana and parole violation.
