The Rome City Commission has voted to allocate $710,000 over the next two years for a pilot “Rapid Rehousing Program”.

The program will be in partnership with the United Way and NE Georgia Housing Authority.

The housing authority will provide 26 units at the Hannah’s Place Apartments in the former Willingham Village off Division Street.

The United Way will oversee the program and take referrals from partner agencies including Hospitality House, Davis Shelter and the Salvation Army.

They will also provide intensive case management to help get individuals back on their feet.

Funding for the project will come from unallocated American Rescue Plan Act Funds .
