Edcar Eugene Dodd, 41 of Sand Rock, AL, was arrested in Rome after reports said he placed his wife in fear of receiving injury when he used hurtful words and actions toward her.
Police added that Dodd attempted to wrap his hands around her neck during the altercation, which occurred on South Heathrow Road.
Dodd is charged with simple assault.
