Cory Robert Shelp Jr, 22 of Rome, and Brian Keith Compton, 57 of Rome, were arrested this week after a traffic stop on Ga 1 near Berry College resulted in police finding methamphetamine.

Reports said that the vehicle was originally stopped for speeding when officers observed an open container of alcohol.

A search of the vehicle then led officers to find a pipe containing methamphetamine inside a center console. A bag of suspected meth was also allegedly thrown from the vehicle

Both are charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug related objects.

Shelp is additionally charged with parole violation.

Compton is also charged with speeding, reckless driving and open container.
