Ms. Martha Sue Weaver Garrett, age 76, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at her residence.
Ms. Garrett was born in Rome, GA, on November 30, 1946, daughter of the late Dewitt Towe and the late Annie Ruth Green Towe. She was also preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Frankie Weaver, as well as her second husband, Robert Garrett. Ms. Garrett was a graduate of Midway High School. Before her retirement she worked as a CNA at Floyd Medical Center (now Atrium Health-Floyd) for over 20 years. Ms. Garrett loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains, especially visiting Pigeon Forge. She enjoyed car shows, going to Lake Winnepesaukah and, in her younger days, taking the family to the drive-in. Ms. Garrett was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church
Survivors include her 4 children, Michael Lee Weaver, Scottie Lane Weaver (Wendy), Pamela Lynn Sellars (Ricky), and Tammy Rae Weaver, all of Rome; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Frank Towe and Gary Towe; her beloved fur-baby, B.J. the bear; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with her brother, Rev. Franklin Towe, and the Rev. Adrian Langston officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30pm on Thursday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Rodney Towe, Gary Towe, Jeff Towe, Derrick Towe, Matt Towe and Joe Reyes.
