Mrs. Ava Nell Harris Hailstone, age 85, of Rome

Mrs. Ava Nell Harris Hailstone, age 85, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at a local hospital.

                Mrs. Hailstone was born in Rome, Georgia on February 1, 1938, daughter of the late William Samuel Harris and the late Annie Mae Noojin Harris.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Zachariah Eugene “Gene” Hailstone, by a brother, Edward Harris, and by three sisters, Grace Tanner, Lois Faye Green, and Dorothy Summers.  Mrs. Hailstone was a member of Sunny Hill Baptist Church.  Prior to retirement, she worked as a Pharmacy Tech for McGowen & Jones Pharmacy.

                Survivors include a daughter, Maleata Hall; two grandsons, Kevin Hall (Tamryn) and Christopher Bedford (Traycee); two great granddaughters, Katie Powers and Emily Powers; several nieces and nephews.

                Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 12 noon at Rome Memorial Park.  The Rev. Charles Maxwell will officiate.
