Rebecca Bullock Garrett, age 77, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2023, after a brief illness. She was secure in her faith and has found her eternal home in Heaven.
Rebecca was born in Lexington, Kentucky on May 12, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Robert Wilmore Garrett and Betty Francis Masters Garrett. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Moye (David), and 3 grandchildren, Lauren Moye, Charles (Stone) Moye, and Carl (Palmer) Moye.
During her adolescence, Rebecca lived with her family in Florida, Texas, and New Mexico before eventually settling in Raleigh, North Carolina. After attending art school, she worked as a graphic artist and moved to Rome, Georgia.
A local entrepreneur and small business owner for over 40 years, Rebecca was beloved by her family, friends, and community. She independently ran Rebecca’s Embroidery. Rebecca cherished her customers and always endeavored to serve them with quality and kindness.
From quilting and racing cars to traveling and painting with her grandchildren, Rebecca was a skilled artist with a sharp, creative mind and sense of humor. She enjoyed exploring and sharing new concepts, mechanics, and things of beauty. She always encouraged curiosity in herself and others.
Rebecca lived an active and adventurous lifestyle. She loved the great outdoors and could often be found in her backyard beside a fire pit with her rescue pups.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as Mom, Nana, and friend.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, at 2 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 PM.
