Mrs. Joan Amelia Madden, age 79, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Madden was born in Rome, Georgia on April 22, 1943, daughter of the late Cecil Lawson and the late Emma Garner Lawson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Madden on February 14, 2022, by a sister, Carolyn Lawson, and by a brother, George Lawson. Mrs. Madden was a graduate of Pepperell High School and attended Coosa Valley Technical College. She worked in Vocational Rehab for the State of Georgia. Mrs. Madden was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Cromer (Kenneth); a son, David Allen Madden (Julie); grandchildren, Allie Acker, Emily Cline (Zach), Dustin Madden (Erin), and Samantha Madden; great grandchildren, June Acker, Lillie Cline, Raelynn Madden, and Riggs Madden; a sister, Faye Petty; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 9:30am until the service time.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday at 10:30am and include, Gary Burk, Robert Culp, Wesley Smith, Brandon Otting, Paul Roberts, and Gary Duke.
