Mr. James Micardy Polick, age 73, of Rome

Mr. James Micardy Polick, age 73, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at his residence.

                Mr. Polick was born in Rome, Georgia on August 26, 1949, son of the late Micardy Mac Polick and the late Wilma Lumpkin Polick.  He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Alan Sands.  Mr. Polick was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of North Broad Baptist Church.  Prior to retirement, he worked as a carpenter for Davis Commercial Contractors.  Mr. Polick was an artist and enjoyed fishing, kayaking and camping on the river, and gardening.  He was a master craftsman and loved helping others.

                Survivors include two sons, Charles Micardy Polick (Michelle), and James Polick, Jr. (Kerrie); two sisters, Claudia Polick Floyd (Dr. Gwynne Douglas Floyd) and Nancy Polick Sands; five grandchildren, Wren Micardy Polick, Grant Polick, Logan Polick, Jackson Wolfe, and Ryleigh Polick; several nieces and nephews.

                In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Polick will be cremated.  Private interment will be at a later date at East View Cemetery.
