Desmion Deaundre Diamond, 33 of Rome, has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of Demond Glynn.

Murder charges were dropped as Diamond pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and firearms charges. As a result of his plea deal, Diamond was sentenced to 30 years to serve 15 in prison. The remainder of the sentence will be served on probation.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the shooting at a Christmas Party at the Rome Civic Center occurred over a woman.

Prosecutors said that the plea deal was given due to the fact that Gynn was the initial aggressor in the incident.

Rome Police has charged 31 year-old Desmion Deaundre Diamond, of Rome, with the murder of Desmond Lebron Glynn after shooting him numerous times during an incident at the Rome Civic Center on Christmas Day.

Police said that the murder charges were added to a list of others after Glynn recently passed away from his injuries.

Diamond is now charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and parole violation.

Desmion Deaundre Diamond, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he shot atleast once toward a victim in the chest area.

Police said that Diamond attempted to seriously injure or kill the victim.

Reports added that the shooting occurred just before midnight on Christmas at the Rome Civic Center.

Diamond is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and parole violation.
