Mrs. Melissa Dawn “Missy” Stephens, age 56, of Rome, GA, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at a local hospital.

                Missy was born in Rome, GA, on August 7, 1966, daughter of Mr. Bob Youngblood and Mrs. Dianne Morgan Youngblood.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ava Rose Litton, and by a niece, Brooke Anthony.  Missy was a graduate of Armuchee High School and went on to receive various certifications in the dental assistant field.  She was a dental assistant for over 15 years at Stephens and Fisher Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.  Missy loved playing with her granddaughter Charlie and her grand dog Dixie.  She was an avid gardener and loved Better Home & Gardens.  Missy enjoyed exercising, riding her golfcart and crafting, especially with her Cricut machine. She was of the Baptist faith.

                Survivors include her husband, Dr. Larry Stephens, Rome, to whom she was married on May 18, 2007; one son, Brandon Litton (Samantha Honea), Duluth; a granddaughter, Charlie Litton; her parents, Bob and Dianne Youngblood; sister, Nona Anthony (Steve); 3 stepchildren, Dr. Geoffrey Stephens (Ann), Dr. Samuel Stephens (Rebecca) and Jessica Manning (Ben); 5 step-grandchildren, Olivia Stephens, Nathan Stephens, Charlotte Stephens, Evan Manning and Julianna Manning; her niece, Brittany Anthony; and great-nephew, Cameron Anthony.

                Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Garrett Henderson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

                The family will receive friends from 12pm until service time on Friday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
