On Thursday, Gordon Counthy Sheriff Mitch Ralston recognized a pair of concerned citizens who located a missing, elderly woman on October 12. The women, Ms.Delisha Cole and Ms. Mary Reaves, both employees of a local travel plaza, found the missing lady in the plaza parking lot. The elderly lady, reportedly suffering from a medical condition, appeared confused and disoriented.
Ms. Cole and Ms. Reaves promptly notified 911 and remained with the victim, providing her with hot coffee and comforting her, until the arrival of authorities. The missing woman was returned safe and unharmed to her family. Ms. Cole remarked that “God had put her in the right place at the right time” . Sheriff Ralston presented both ladies with a Sheriff’s Citizen Appreciation Award, which read in part that they had exhibited “both good citizenship and compassion”.
