The Rome-Floyd Fire Department announces that the Georgia Arson Control (GAC) plans to award a check that will go to an informant who provided multiple tips that resulted in the arrest and the successful prosecution of two men from the Feb. 2019 fire at 11 Craton Rd. The award presentation will be held on October 10, 2022 at 11:30 am at the Rome Fire Department Administration Building located at 409 E 12th St SE, Rome, GA 30161.
The person who will receive the check may chose to remain anonymous to the public. Fire Marshal, Mary Catherine Chewning submitted an application for a nomination of the award. The GAC Board is a state agency who provides the reward money up to $10,000. The board reviews cases to determine how much is awarded to each recipient. Recipients can remain anonymous to the public.
