Jamian Ryan Clipper, 41 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he lied to police in an effort to avoid arrest.
Reports said that Clipper, a fugitive from justice, gave officers a fake name while being questioned in an effort to not get arrested.
He was taken into custody at the Dollar General on Shorter Avenue.
Clipper is charged with obstruction, giving false information to police and being a fugitive from justice.
