Julio Martinez-Guzman, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found illegally in possession of a firearm while conspiring to sell methamphetamine.

Police stated that Martinez-Guzman conspired with another to sell 28 grams of methamphetamine.

While taking him into custody, police said that he was in possession of a firearm despite being a convicted felon.

Martinez-Guzman is charged with possession of firearm by a convicted felon and attempt to violate Georgia controlled substance act.
