Mrs. Ruby Haygood Franks, age 79, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at a local hospital.

                Mrs. Franks was born in Calhoun, Georgia on September 13, 1942, daughter of the late J. W. Haygood and the late Clara Edwards Haygood.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Stanley Franks, by a son, David Franks, by a brother, Willard Haygood, and by a sister, Betty Garrett.  Mrs. Franks was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  She helped care for 27 children over the years.

                Survivors include three sons, Danny Franks (Diane), Jeff Franks (Missy), and Tommy Franks; four grandchildren, Jacob Franks, Hannah Franks, Thom Franks, and Aliza Franks; two nmstep-grandchildren, Frankie Shirley and Kimberly Storey; four great grandchildren, Jamie Hilliard, Tristen Rochester, Kaydence Rochester, and Everleigh Shirley; a sister, Mary Jo Pack; nieces and nephews.

                Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Alex Glover and the Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating.  Interment will follow in the family lot at Oostanaula United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Forrest Leachman officiating.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 5 until 7pm.

                Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday at 1:30pm and include: Active: Thom Franks, Jacob Franks, John Hartley, Frankie Shirley, Coby Trotter, and Robert Leachman.  Honorary: J. W. Franks, Rod Allen, Wayne Allen, and Larry Alford.
