Mrs. Nina Mae Tapp, age 88 of Summerville, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Tapp was born in Langston, Alabama on September 18, 1933, daughter of the late Ernest Timmons and Margie Murphy Timmons.  She was a member of the New Hope North Baptist Church; was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills, and was a homemaker.  She was a fantastic cook and with her green thumb, could grow practically anything.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tapp was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lee Tapp; daughters, Ruth Bryan and Doris Shelton; a son, Eddie Ray Tapp; sisters, Emma Lois Bell and Effie Lee Tapp; and brothers, Ernestine Timmons and James Hayward Timmons.

Mrs. Tapp is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Myra and Ronald Collins, Rita and Billy Treadaway, Tammy White and Cynthia and Tracey Carter; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Tapp, Troy and Pat Tapp and Larry and Patty Tapp; sister, Era Dee “Tootsie” Rape; son-in-law, John “J.C.” Shelton; 34 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Tapp will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Morrison officiating.  Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Tapp, Ricky Tapp, David Tapp, Alan Collins, Dustin White, Sjohn Shelton and Corey Carter.

Mrs. Tapp will be in state at the Coffman Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour.
