Jakari Deyon Wills, 21 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was jailed. in Rome this week after reports said he forged a check for $9,750.
Police said that Willis attempted to buy a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro with the forged check.
The alleged crime occurred back on December 14 of last year.
Willis is charged with felony theft by deception.
