James Temple Hall II, 41 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he repeatedly punched a woman in the back of the head and face.
The victim added that Hall dragged her across the backyard of the home.
Police said that the 41 year-old woman suffered bruising to the head and bleeding to her knees from the attack.
The incident occurred at his home on Lovell Road.
Hall is charged with battery.
