Michael Eugene Trammell, 59 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he struck his daughter in the face during an altercation on Martha Berry Highway.
Reports added that the victim suffered a busted lip after Trammell hit her in the mouth with a closed fist.
The victim also told police that when she informed Trammell that she was going to police he grabbed her cellphone in an attempt to prevent her from doing so.
The incident occurred back in late July of this year.
Trammell is charged with battery.
