Limestone Valley RC&D seeks public input for watershed planning efforts. A planning effort is underway on four watersheds surrounding Rome, Georgia. The watersheds are Woodward Creek, Dozier Creek, Dykes Creek and a section of the Etowah River. A public meeting will be held at the Rome ECO Center July 14th at 4pm. This meeting will explain the planning process, outcomes, and serve as a listening session. Community members are encouraged to come and share their knowledge of the watersheds.

Information from this meeting will be used to develop a 9 element planning document approved by the EPA. THis planning document helps local entities apply for federal and state funds with a goal of improving the watersheds.

This project is funded through a partnership with the USDA-NRCS. Limestone Valley RC&D is a nonprofit serving Northwest Georgia since 1974. For more information about Limestone Valley visit
