Barbara Nicole Rayburn, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she was given a $2,600 check from the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia as payment for work despite the fact that was not the case.

Police stated that despite being paid by the center Rayburn never worked for them.

Reports stated that the incident occurred back on June 3 2019.

The arrest came following an investigation into the former director of the center, who was also arrested on numerous theft charges.

Rayburn is charged with felony theft by deception.

The former director of the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, Kimberly Lynn Davis, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole $22,210.99 from the organization between January 2018 and June 2019.

Reports said that Davis took funds from the center’s bank account, Paypal account and credit card account to make personal purchases.

Reports added that Davis attempted to conceal the purchases by claiming they were legitimate business expenditures.

She is charged with felony theft by taking, felony theft by deception, felony theft by conversion and financial transaction card fraud.
