John Edward Whitmire, 32 of Cedar Bluff, was arrested in Floyd County after reports said he led police on a multi-state police chase.
Reports stated that the chase began in Cherokee County, Alabama and ended on Buttermilk Road in Cave Spring.
Officers went on to state that while taking Whitmire into custody he was found in possession of marijuana and a grinder.
He is charged with possession of marijuana and drug related objects.
Additional charges are pending in Cherokee County, Alabama.
