The Rockmart Yellow Jackets home game this Friday night against the LaFayette Ramblers has been called off due to COVID-19.

According to the Rockmart High School Facebook page, the Ramblers were forced to cancel the game due to COVID-19 cases within their organization, and they could potentially have to call off their final regular season game as well.

The Jackets will get the week off, and were supposed to celebrate Senior Night during the Nov. 13 home game that was set to be the final for the regular season.

Rockmart High principal Robyn Teems said that there are no plans to reschedule the game before the end of the season.

The Jackets sit at 7-1 with the week off before they travel to Ringgold for the final regular season game on November 20.
