Justin Lamar Penny, 33 of Cave Spring, turned himself in to the Floyd County Jail after he was accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from International Paper, the Cave Spring Fire Department and Floyd County police officer Baker Harbin.

Reports said that Penny stole radios, chargers, fans, torches and other equipment valued at over $1,500 from International Paper, numberous radios valued at close to $6,000 from the Cave Spring Fire Department and a Ryobi saw from Harbin.

Reports added that Penny then pawn all the items at Cash America Pawn for over $6,800.

Police stated that the thefts occurred over a period of time between October 2019 and October 2020.

Penny is charged with two counts felony theft by taking, misdemeanor theft by taking and felony theft by deception.
