The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) announced on Monday that the start of the 2020 football season will be delayed by two weeks, moving kickoff from Friday, Aug. 21, to Friday, Sept. 4. The GHSA added that all other fall sports will begin on time.
Football practice is still scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27, and pads will be allowed beginning Saturday, Aug. 1. Scrimmages will be allowed on Aug. 21 and 28.
The GHSA will keep all 10 games on the schedule, as well as five weeks of state playoffs.
