WZQZ News has learned that a corrections officer at Hays State Prison was injured in an apparent attack on Tuesday evening of this week.
Sources say that the corrections officer is recovering at an Atlanta hospital. The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed the attack to a Chattanooga television station yesterday. We will have more on this story as information becomes available. The Georgia Department of Corrections says that the incident is still under investigation.
