Chattooga County authorities arrested 50 year-old James Gilliland, of Trion, this week after he commited a hit and run that left a female pedestrian in very serious condition.
Reports said that the victim was struck near Highway 337 in the Teloga area.
She was transported to Erlanger Medical Center.
Gilliland is charged with DUI, failure to report an accident and serious injury by vehicle.
